Your donations help keep our book sales stocked year-round and directly support the Thurmont Regional Library. Proceeds make it possible to fund programs, materials, and community events that enrich our entire community.
we Gladly Accept
Gently used books in good condition, including children’s books, collectible titles, comic books and graphic novels, and a wide range of fiction and non-fiction.
We DO NOT accept
- Books that are moldy, water-damaged, musty, or have strong odors (including smoke)
- Books that have heavy underlining, highlighting, and or notes in the text
- Books showing signs of insect or rodent infestation
- Encyclopedias, Readers Digest Condensed Books, Harvard Classics
- Magazines, professional / academic Journals
- VHS, cassette tapes
- Computer books (older than 5 years)
- Pamphlets, brochures, binders
Where to bring donations
Book donations may be brought to the Thurmont Regional Library during regular library hours. Because space is limited, we ask that donations be limited to two boxes or bags at a time. If you have a larger donation or an estate collection, please contact the Friends before your visit to make arrangements.
